Travel Trade

Welcome to our page. I hope it helps you find all the information you need to keep your customers up to date with what's happening at Virgin Trains.

My role as Business Development Manager for the Travel Trade was created in January 2008, and I'm really enjoying working with our Trade Partners. I'd like to hear from you, so if there's anything you need or if you have any ideas for this page please send me an email and let me know.

Adverse Weather Conditions 13JAN 2010

Retail Support issued the following bulletin on 13th January 2010
Due to adverse weather conditions affecting most of the UK, some services will be subject to delay or short notice cancellation. Customers should be allowed to travel on the previous or following service if their train is cancelled.
In addition to the above the following will apply on VT services
For Advance Purchase Tickets
Those passengers holding tickets dated between 5th JAN and 13th JAN 2010 inclusive will be allowed to travel on the same VT journey as on their ticket on any later date up to and including 31st JAN where travel is on the same VT train or one that is one hour or less on either side of the original booking. A reservation should be made if possible but is not compulsory.
Conditions
The passsenger must travel with the original ticket and reservation and ideally a new reservation will have been made, but this is not mandatory.
There will be no change to the 'no refunds' condition of these tickets
Passengers should be informed that all connecting TOCs except East Midland Trains have agreed that through travel will be honoured to/from their services in accordance with this policy. Any passengers travelling to/from stations with a West Coast connections ticket served only by EMT will need to buy a new ticket for that portion of their journey
